Invisible Flowers- Imagined and Real Experience

CREW (Custodians of Rare and Endangered Flowers) have assisted me with a plant list and suggestions of plant species I should look at. Thus far I have not seen any of these flowers in my research area. The river beds are not safe, polluted and invaded with alien species. I have however managed to see most of the species through finding images of the internet and imagining what the plants look like.

One special flower I have encountered is the Worcester Silky Puff at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. This critically endangered plant, named Diastella parilis, is being cultivated at their nursery. In the paintings that follow there are two paintings where I have looked at internet images and imagined what the flower is like. The last painting I made of my subjective experience of the real flower.
